On Sunday, September 21, 2025, St. Francis Anglican Church swung its doors wide and opened hearts to the Airdrie community with an inspiring Back-to-Church Sunday—a celebration, invitation, and a glimpse into all the life God is building here.

The service overflowed with warmth and joy. Guests and regulars alike were invited into worship, sharing in prayer, music, and fellowship. The message centered on belonging, calling everyone to “come and see” the vibrant work God is doing in and through our ministries. As the congregation watched together, short ministry spotlights were presented, giving newly arrived guests the chance to see the many ways they can plug in and participate—music, hospitality, outreach, children’s ministries, care teams, and more.

  • Ministry Exhibits: After worship, the halls filled with ministry booths where visitors mingled with team leaders, asked questions, and saw tangible ways to serve.

  • Warm Welcomes: Friendly faces greeted newcomers with name tags, guided tours, and a sense of genuine belonging—church as family.

  • Worship & Invitation: The spirit of the day felt like an echo of Christ’s own invitation: “Come, follow me.” We reimagined church as not a place to watch, but to join.

Why Back-to-Church Sunday Matters

This wasn’t just an open house—it was a vision-casting day. It said to Airdrie: “We are here. We love. We serve. And there is a place for you.” For our congregation, it was a reminder that church isn’t a spectator event—it’s a calling to participation in God’s work.
