On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the congregation of St. Francis Anglican Church received heartfelt news — our beloved Incumbent Priest, Rev. Daniel Joseph, will be leaving the parish at the end of this year. His final day of ministry with us will be December 31, 2025, marking the close of a meaningful chapter in the life of our church.
Rev. Daniel shared that his decision to resign from his post was a deeply prayerful and difficult one, guided by his sense of duty and love toward his aging parents in Singapore, where he will be returning permanently to care for them. After much discernment and discussion with the Archbishop of Calgary, this transition was formally communicated to the Parish Council during a meeting chaired by the Archbishop himself.
In his time with St. Francis, Rev. Daniel has been a catalyst for growth and reflection, challenging us to see our faith through new eyes and to strengthen our walk with God in both personal devotion and communal service. His thoughtful sermons, compassionate leadership, and genuine heart for the people have left a lasting imprint on our parish family.
While we will miss his presence dearly, we send him forth with hearts full of gratitude and love, trusting that the same God who led him here will continue to guide and bless him in the next season of his ministry and life.
As the St. Francis family journeys onward, the Parish Council and Corporation will continue to oversee parish life and ministry operations until a new Incumbent is appointed. We remain confident that God’s faithful hand is upon us, leading us — as He always has — into new beginnings shaped by grace and hope.
“The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” — Psalm 121:8
“And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.” — Jeremiah 3:15
Let us keep Rev. Daniel and his family in our prayers as they prepare for this transition, and let us also continue to pray for St. Francis Anglican Church, that we may remain united in love and steadfast in faith as we look to what God has in store.
