To all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, godfathers, mentors, and father-figures among us: Happy Father's Day.

Today we give thanks for the men who have helped shape our lives through their love, sacrifice, wisdom, and steadfast presence. Whether through words spoken or examples quietly lived, fathers and father-figures leave an imprint upon the hearts of those entrusted to their care.

Fatherhood is often expressed not in grand gestures, but in countless unseen acts: early mornings, long days, whispered prayers, patient guidance, difficult decisions, and the willingness to place the needs of others before one's own. These are the everyday offerings of love that build families, strengthen communities, and reflect the heart of God.

As we celebrate this day, we honour not only those who have raised children, but also the men who have nurtured faith, offered encouragement, shared wisdom, and stood beside others as spiritual fathers, mentors, teachers, coaches, and friends.

We recognize that Father's Day can also stir tender emotions. Some among us grieve fathers who are no longer with us. Others carry memories marked by absence, disappointment, or longing. To all who find this day difficult, know that you are held in our prayers and embraced by the love of our Heavenly Father, whose compassion never fails.

In Scripture, we are reminded:

"As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him."
Psalm 103:13

May every man of St. Francis be encouraged in the sacred calling to lead with humility, serve with generosity, and love with Christ-like devotion. May God strengthen your hands for the work before you, grant you wisdom for the journey, and fill your heart with His peace.

Today, we celebrate you. We thank God for you. And we pray that His richest blessings may rest upon you and those you love.

Happy Father's Day!
